Challenge Statuses

Every challenge on OuiRace follows a lifecycle defined by three statuses. Understanding these statuses helps you manage your challenges effectively and anticipate the actions needed at each stage.

The three statuses

Draft

The draft status corresponds to a challenge that is being created or modified. While a challenge is in draft:

  • It is not visible to participants or the public
  • You can modify all settings: title, goal, type, allowed sports, dates
  • No participant can register
tip

Take advantage of the draft status to refine every detail of your challenge. Have a colleague review the title and description before publishing.

Published

The published status makes the challenge visible and open for participation. Once published:

  • The challenge appears on your public campaign page
  • Participants can register and start collecting donations
  • Athletic activities are counted toward the goal
  • Modifications are limited to ensure consistency
warning

Publishing a challenge is a significant action. Carefully verify the following points before publishing:

  • The title and description are correct
  • The goal is well calibrated
  • The start and end dates are accurate
  • The allowed sports match your intention

Finished

The finished status indicates that the challenge has ended. In this state:

  • Final results are available and locked
  • Participants can no longer log new activities
  • Donations can still be viewed
  • The challenge remains visible as a historical record

Color badges

In the challenge table of your dashboard, each status is identified by a color badge for quick visual identification:

Color badges let you see the state of each challenge at a glance, which is particularly useful when managing many challenges within the same campaign.

Typical lifecycle

A challenge's standard path follows these stages:

  1. Creation: you fill out the challenge form. The status is automatically set to "draft."
  2. Preparation: you adjust the settings, write the description, and verify the goals.
  3. Publication: you publish the challenge. It becomes visible and registrations open.
  4. Active period: participants register, complete activities, and collect donations.
  5. Closure: at the end date or manually, the challenge moves to "finished" status.
