Understanding race badges
Each race on OuiRace can display one or more badges directly on its card in the catalog. These badges give you an at-a-glance understanding of the nature and features of the event.

The different badge types
Charity race
| Appearance | Badge with a heart or helping hand icon |
| Meaning | The event is linked to a charitable cause or organization |
| What this means for you | During registration, you can make an optional donation on top of the race price |
Charity races are organized in partnership with nonprofit organizations. A portion of the funds collected (or the entirety for some events) goes to the supported cause.
If you want to run for a good cause, filter the catalog by the "Charity race" category from the search page.
Competitive race
| Appearance | Badge with a stopwatch icon |
| Meaning | The race is timed and features official rankings |
| What this means for you | Your times will be recorded and you will appear in the overall and age-category rankings |
This badge distinguishes ranked races from untimed events (walks, recreational races).
Championship
| Appearance | Badge with a trophy icon |
| Meaning | The race is part of an official circuit or championship |
| What this means for you | Your results count toward an overall ranking across multiple rounds |
Championship races are typically stages of a regional or national circuit. Your performance is factored into the cumulative circuit ranking.
Finisher medal
| Appearance | Badge with a medal icon |
| Meaning | A finisher medal is given to every participant who completes the race |
| What this means for you | You will receive a physical medal at the finish line |
The finisher medal is included in the registration price. You can also order additional articles such as t-shirts during registration.
Final
| Appearance | Badge with a star or checkered flag icon |
| Meaning | This is the last round (final) of a circuit or championship |
| What this means for you | The final circuit ranking will be determined after this race |
Finals are often festive events with an awards ceremony for the top performers in the overall circuit standings.

Multiple badges on a single race
A race can have multiple badges. For example, a race can be both:
- Charity and competitive: a timed race benefiting an organization
- Championship and medal: a circuit round with a finisher medal
- Final and charity: the last stage of a charitable circuit
Badges help you choose a race that matches your expectations. Take them into account to know whether the event offers rankings, a medal, or a charitable component before you register.
