Cancellation insurance Website
OuiRace offers optional cancellation insurance during race registration. This insurance allows you to get a refund in case of unforeseen circumstances preventing you from participating.
Free cancellation within 72 hours​
Before we talk about insurance, know that all participants benefit from a free cancellation right:
- You have 72 hours after your registration confirmation to cancel and get a full refund, without justification and without charge.
- Send your request by email to support@ouirace.com specifying your name, the event, and the invoice number.
- The refund is processed within 5 to 10 business days to the original payment method.
This 72-hour cancellation right applies to all participants, whether or not they purchased cancellation insurance, and regardless of the organizer's policy.
After the 72-hour period:
- With cancellation insurance: you can request cancellation under the conditions below.
- Without cancellation insurance: no cancellation or refund is possible, unless otherwise provided by the organizer's policy.
Pricing​
The cost of cancellation insurance is calculated automatically based on the race price:

The insurance amount is always between 2 euros and 5 euros, regardless of the race price. It's a small cost for peace of mind.
How to activate the insurance​
Cancellation insurance is subscribed at step 2 of the registration process, in the options section.
- Start your race registration.
- Complete step 1 (participant information).
- At step 2, find the "Cancellation insurance" option.
- Toggle the switch to subscribe.
- The insurance amount is displayed and added to the total.
The insurance amount is shown before you activate it. You know exactly how much it costs before making your decision.
Impact on the total amount​
When you activate the insurance, its amount is added to your registration total:

The insurance amount is visible in the summary at step 3 (payment) and in your confirmation email.
What the insurance covers​
Cancellation insurance protects you after the 72-hour free cancellation period has expired, in case you are unable to participate in the race for reasons beyond your control:
- Injury or illness preventing you from running
- Accident occurring before the race
- Unforeseen work obligation
- Other legitimate reason with supporting documentation
Claims process​
To make a cancellation insurance claim:
- Send your request by email to support@ouirace.com before the race date.
- Provide supporting documentation corresponding to the reason for cancellation (medical certificate, employer's statement, etc.).
- Specify your name, the event concerned, and the invoice number.
If your claim is accepted:
- The registration fee is refunded in full to the original payment method.
- The refund is processed within 5 to 10 business days.
The insurance premium is non-refundable. Only the registration fee is refunded.
When insurance is not available​
Cancellation insurance may not be offered in certain cases:
- Free races -- insurance is not applicable for events with no registration fee (see Free registration)
- Organizer has not enabled the option -- some organizers choose not to offer this option
If the option does not appear at step 2, it means the organizer does not offer it for this race.
Deactivating the insurance​
If you activated the insurance by mistake, you can deactivate it at any time before completing payment:
- Go back to step 2.
- Toggle off the insurance switch.
- The amount is removed from the total.
Cancellation insurance is an optional feature. It is never checked by default. You will never be charged for insurance without having explicitly activated it.
