Race Visibility

OuiRace lets you control who can see your race by setting its visibility level. This setting is independent of the approval workflow and the race status.

Visibility levels

Two visibility levels are available:

VisibilityDescriptionVisible in the listVisible via direct link
PublicThe race appears in the event list and search resultsYesYes
UnlistedThe race does not appear publicly anywhere, but remains accessible via its direct linkNoYes

Public race

This is the default mode. Your race is visible:

  • In the race list on OuiRace.
  • In search results (by sport, location, date).
  • On campaign pages if it is associated with one.
  • Via its shareable direct link.

Unlisted race

The race is hidden from all public listings. Only people with the direct link can access it. This mode is useful in the following cases:

  • You want to test your race before making it public.
  • The race is reserved for a private group (company, club, association).
  • You want to share the race only with selected people.
Direct link

Even in unlisted mode, the race page remains fully functional. Participants can register normally via the direct link. You can share it by email, messaging apps, or social media.

Change the visibility

  1. Open your race from the organizer dashboard.
  2. Go to the race settings.
  3. In the "Visibility" section, select the desired level.
  4. Click "Save".

Immediate change

The visibility change takes effect immediately. If you switch a race from public to unlisted, it disappears from the race list within seconds.

Visibility and approval workflow

Visibility is a separate setting from the approval status:

SituationVisible in the listAccessible
Draft + PublicNo (not yet approved)No
Under review + PublicNo (not yet approved)No
Published + PublicYesYes
Published + UnlistedNoYes (direct link)
Approval required

Even if the visibility is set to "Public", your race will only be visible after it has been approved by the OuiRace team.

Best practices

  • Start as unlisted: set up your entire race (formats, articles, GPX route) before making it public.
  • Share the preview link: send the direct link to your collaborators to validate the content before publication.
  • Switch to public at launch time: once the race is approved and finalized, change the visibility to reach the widest audience.
